Brandy Ellen’s Business Solutions is a virtual assistant and unique marketing business! We can help you with your basic office tasks to more detailed marketing plans. We are basically your virtual secretary and can handle any size project! Having over 10 years of “real world” office work, most recently being an Administrative Assistant, Brandy Tanner DBA Brandy Ellen’s Business Solutions is more than capable of handling anything you give to her!

What inspired you start your business?
I have always wanted to be an entrepreneur. My inspiration to have my own business has always come from my heart. Since then I married my soul mate a couple years back and he works in a job that is just so stressful. Being a home business owner, will allow me to eventually bring my husband home to a place where we can work together!

How long have you been in business?
Providing services since January 2009, however, founded the business name in March 2009.

What did you do in your past work life?
I have been an office clerk, bank teller, administrative assistant, a cashier, and many other things. My most favorite job was being an Administrative Assistant for nearly 3 years for a small one man owned company that provided corporate employee benefits, due to having that position I learned a lot about corporate employee benefits such as health & dental insurance and short & long term disability.

Describe your ideal workday.
My ideal work day starts when I wake up and have breakfast with my children and see my oldest off to school. Then my sister comes to work for me by providing “nanny” type services which allows me to work in my private office without interruption. I usually try to have all work completed by 4pm or 5pm EST, however, I have been known to work all hours of the night!

What have been some of your major successes?
My major successes have been that I found I still have the ability to multi-task. It has been a couple years since I have worked in the corporate world and although I super great at multi-tasking, I wasn’t sure if I would be able to have the skill after being “mommy” only for so long. Sure enough – I HAVE IT! I believe the ability to multi-task is a skill that you either HAVE or DO NOT HAVE, and lucky for me I have it!

What have been some of your major challenges?
My major challenge originally was to find someone to help me from home with my boys while I pursued my business needs. Just recently I was able to hire my sister until I can find a nanny type provider that I can afford! Other than that, I have not been faced with many challenges as it pertains to business relations.

On those impossible days, what motivates you to keep going?
The impossible days have been slim – but when they do happen what keeps me going is the thought that one day my VA business will bring my husband back home to stay with me all day. We plan to sell computers, build & service them as well. I know that what I am doing will better our family and lower stress levels in the long run!

What is your balancing secret in managing a business and family?
I am not sure what my “secret” is, I think we all feel a struggle no matter how organized we are. Lucky for me, hiring my sister as a “nanny” type person is really what keeps me balanced!

If there was one piece of advice you could give to your children about running a successful business, what would it be?
I would advise my children to pursue their dreams no matter how many times you hear, “you can’t do that”, think “yes I can” and you will succeed! As long as you stay goal orientated and remain focused on your goals you can be successful in owning & operating your own business.

Do you have a favorite business tool and/or resource?
I absolutely love network on the VA Forums!!

What is next for your business?
Next for my business will be some heavy duty YouTube video campaigns and networking a bit more to get my name out there. I also hope to have my office rebuilt with more shelves!
