Sorry for the potential ambiguity.
I stand by my statement. It costs money to INITIATE a Meetup group on Meetup.com …. unless they’ve changed their policy on starting groups since I last signed in. I’ve seen many requests for other group members to pay the fee to take over a group after the initiator is about to leave said group(s).
Of course, it costs nothing to JOIN a Meetup group.
